VFS Global, operating on behalf of the Swiss Embassy in India, has introduced stricter submission protocols for Schengen visa applicants:
- Only the documents listed on the official checklist will be accepted at Visa Application Centres (VACs).
Any additional paperwork or explanations submitted beyond the checklist will be outright rejected — there is no option to add extra documents later.
Key Document Requirements Include:
- Valid passport (issued within last 10 years; 3 months validity post-trip + 2 blank pages)
- Recent passport-size photo on white background (pasted, not stapled)
- Fully and accurately completed visa application form
- Company introduction letter (if applicable) — on letterhead with position, dates, purpose, and no-objection
- Travel insurance with at least EUR 30,000 coverage
- Confirmed return flight tickets & accommodation bookings
- Financial proof: salary slips, bank statements (only first 3 and last 3 pages), ITRs
- Special conditions for minors, students, and family group applications
Why This Matters:
This change emphasizes strict adherence to official visa protocols. Even minor deviations can lead to application delays or visa refusals.
