VFS Global, operating on behalf of the Swiss Embassy in India, has introduced stricter submission protocols for Schengen visa applicants:

  • Only the documents listed on the official checklist will be accepted at Visa Application Centres (VACs).

Any additional paperwork or explanations submitted beyond the checklist will be outright rejected — there is no option to add extra documents later.

Key Document Requirements Include:

  1.   Valid passport (issued within last 10 years; 3 months validity post-trip + 2 blank pages)
  2.   Recent passport-size photo on white background (pasted, not stapled)
  3. Fully and accurately completed visa application form
  4. Company introduction letter (if applicable) — on letterhead with position, dates, purpose, and no-objection
  5. Travel insurance with at least EUR 30,000 coverage
  6.  Confirmed return flight tickets & accommodation bookings
  7. Financial proof: salary slips, bank statements (only first 3 and last 3 pages), ITRs
  8. Special conditions for minors, students, and family group applications

Why This Matters:

This change emphasizes strict adherence to official visa protocols. Even minor deviations can lead to application delays or visa refusals.

Only submit documents explicitly listed in the embassy’s checklist.
